Experienced Leadership for a More Just Minnesota
Hi! I’m Monica Meyer—
I am a parent to a toddler, committed partner, experienced changemaker, and trusted leader. I’m running in the Special Election to represent District 60 in the Minnesota Senate.
Throughout my career, I have championed the collective needs of Minnesotans. From my work as a key leader on the campaign for marriage equality in Minnesota to passing nation-leading anti-bullying legislation to protect young people, and enshrining the strongest reproductive freedom protections in the country into law, I’ve long been on the forefront of historic changemaking.
My partner and I are proud to call Senate District 60 home. We love our neighbors, and we love being so close to great art, amazing parks, the river, and incredible food. We are grateful to be raising our daughter in such a vibrant community.
As your Senator, I will be a champion for working families. I will work to increase the power of unions, strengthen worker protections, ensure every family can afford both childcare and elder care, and increase the state minimum wage to $20/hr. I also believe that all families deserve housing that is affordable, safe, and dignified.
As your Senator, I will work to build safer communities. Like many of you, I know we need to prioritize climate resilience and increase transit options. I also support funding full-service community schools and expanding access to affordable healthcare.
As your Senator, I will fight to protect democracy. I first started organizing as a student on my college campus, and I will staunchly defend students’ first amendment freedom to protest on campus. I will stand up against a dangerous federal administration that targets vulnerable communities.
SD 60 deserves a leader who not only fights alongside you to advance our community’s vision for the future, but also fiercely protects the gains we’ve made. I am an experienced leader who will get to work on day one to build a more just Minnesota.
